30 paintings in 30 days. #3

"Wheat Field and Green Trees"

Oil on canvas panel, 6"x8". $60.00 + 7.00 S/H.

This one was a challenge to get the perspective right, without getting too detailed with the wheat shafts. The foreground ended up looking a little bit like it was inspired by Van Gogh.

Thanks for Looking!!

About this Painting: I'm really enjoying these little watercolor paintings that I've been doing the past few days. I love the "aqua board" clay board that I found at Hobby Lobby, and I really love that watercolor dries in the blink of an eye! No more fighting to get a good photograph of my paintings, now I just spray the watercolor with a sealant, and scan it. Another benefit of the watercolor is that I can sit here in front of the computer, next to DJ and paint directly from an image on the screen, I don't have to worry so much about color distortion from my printer, and I don't have to be as picky about clean up. This week we will have another guest filling our 3rd bedroom- which also acts as my "studio", so I can take my little set of watercolors and take up limited space in the living room. Not to say that I won't be back to my oil paintings, but for now it's a good substitute.
